Become your own sugar detective


I shared with my Facebook community how one bowl of rice last night increase my blood glucose was 5.5 mmol/L this morning. It is too high. And a client come to me worried because her A1C is skyrocketing because she enjoyed too much a delicious drink during the holidays.

I wonder how many of us have a high level of glucose in the blood and we do not know.



Eating too much causes excess sugar to linger in the bloodstream. Even a small rise in blood sugar has been linked to premature death, accelerated aging, and chronic and degenerative health concerns. The key to optimal health is early detection of anything that can stop your progress for a healthy body.

Your job is to take good care of yourself because no one else will. One way that you can start is by monitoring your blood sugar and by doing so you are taking responsibility for your health, wellbeing, and longevity.,5,7

I have homework for you get yourself a glucometer Start by monitoring your fasting blood sugar levels in the morning, and make lifestyle and dietary adjustments until you see fasting morning blood sugar start falling into the 70-90mg/dL range or 3.9 – 5.0 mmol/L—no higher if you are not diabetic. It might take time to be a blood sugar detective as it requires some extra work but be patient while you learn about which unique lifestyle factors can help to support healthy blood sugar levels—it’s well worth it!
